Massage
I qualified as a Certified Masseuse and Bodywork Practitioner at the Alchemy of Touch Massage Academy in 2016.
Alchemy of Touch is a profound fusion of Rebalancing Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Chi-Release, Fluid Touch (Alchemy of Touch Technique), Joint Mobilization (Trager T
chnique), Thai Yoga Stretches, Digital Pressure Massage, Holistic Massage, Visceral Work, Meditation and Energy Work.
The treatment is designed to elevate massage and bodywork to a new level by harmonising both musculoskeletal and energetic techniques from these many different Eastern and Western modalities.
This synthesis facilitates the release of tension by focusing on the myo-fascia in order to unwind physical imbalances and open subtle energetic channels – restoring the body and mind to a state of harmony and deep relaxation.
Deep Tissue of the Lower back can have profound effects on the neck, hips and knees
More Information About Sessions:
I offer a number of different kinds of treatment all of which come from this base. I have hundreds of hours of techniques up my sleeve and people frequently book a block of five or ten sessions because this gives us a chance to:
Repeatedly work on areas that need frequent work - for example, the shoulders, which in most cases hold so much tension that has been built up over such a long time that it can't all be released in one go.
Explore new areas that might have hidden, unknown tension such as the calves, gluteus muscles, hips, or thighs. These are not the areas that people usually ask for massage on, and very often people aren't aware of the tightness there, but have an important effect on the release of the whole body.
Experience a broader range of body and energy work techniques, and find what really works with your system. There are so many different ways to release tension from the body: shaking, rocking, pulsing, pressing, stroking, are just some examples, and everyone responds differently to different things. Many people don't actually know what really works for them because they have not experienced many different kinds of touch and bodywork. And that is the beauty of the style of bodywork in which I am trained - it pulls techniques from traditions from East and West, old and new, highly technical, simple and playful.
Mobilisation of the shoulder joint while relaxed stimulates blood flow to areas of stagnation within the shoulders. It also breaks holding patterns to release tension which awakens many of the energy channels in the upper body
My Recommendation:
The best option, if you would like continued treatment, is to book what I call The Full Works. This is a block of ten massages which you can take whenever you want. I call it the 'Full Works' because it truly gives us enough time to unwind all of the tight muscles and areas of the body and to touch on everything else too. The sessions never expire: you can take them whenever you like. I recommend either once weekly, or once or twice monthly.
If you are not sure you want to commit to this then you can also book the Mini Works which is much the same, except that we do five sessions instead of ten.
First-time Clients:
I offer my first-time clients the opportunity to experience a little bit of everything I do, by creating an 'Introductory Session,' in which you have approx 30 minutes consultation, 45 mins energy work and 45 minutes massage.
Then, clients know from experience exactly what I'm offering, and can tailor following sessions to include only what you really like.
